Manuscript consultations include a comprehensive manuscript review, detailed notes, and a 30-minute phone or video call with a talented EL editor. This opportunity extends to writers of all experience levels. Before enrolling, please review the full consultation guidelines<\/a>, as well as our roster of editors.<\/span><\/b>
\n<\/b><\/b><\/p>\n

Editor Selection: <\/b>Writers have the option to select the editor they’d prefer to work with, though selections are subject to editor availability. Editor bios can be found on the consultation page<\/a>.\u00a0Editor Kelly Luce offers written feedback only, including in-line notes, an editorial letter, and follow-up via email. All other editors offer in-line notes and a video call.<\/p>\n

Availability: Up to 20 writers may enroll, and slots will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Three slots will be reserved for members at a 5% discount. Members who did not already receive a private link to purchase the discounted consults should email editors@electricliterature.com<\/a> to request the link.<\/span>
\n<\/b><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Timeline: Each writer will receive detailed marginal notes and a 30-minute phone or video call with their editor, to be completed by July 31, 2026.<\/span>
\n<\/b><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Deadline<\/strong>: Manuscript consultations can be purchased until May 11, 2026 (or until the 20 available slots are filled). The deadline to submit materials is May 11, 2026<\/strong>.<\/span>
\n<\/b><\/p>\n

-After you purchase a manuscript consultation, we will send you a private Submittable link to submit your manuscript.<\/span>
\n<\/b><\/p>\n

-When you submit, please use the following format for naming your file: FICTION\/NONFICTION_Title of Piece_Last Name.
\n<\/b><\/p>\n

-To purchase a manuscript consultation as a gift, simply forward the confirmation email that contains the submission link to the gift recipient.<\/span>
\n<\/b><\/p>\n

-In lieu of a cover letter and author bio, please include a paragraph or two about yourself to help us to get to know you, and your progress with the submitted work. Where are you in the revision process? Is there anything specific you would like help with? Please also note whether your submission is an essay or a short story.
\n<\/b><\/p>\n

This opportunity will also serve as an important fundraiser for Electric Lit, a 501(c)3 nonprofit. Proceeds will be used to pay staff salaries, writer fees, and help us continue to edit, nurture, and publish over 500 writers annually.<\/span>
